Training in the Mountains

The highlands of Erinn have always had a certain allure to them. Ever overshadowing in the distance, the mountains’ presence dominates the northern part of the country. Despite being nestled amongst the base of this cordillera, Tir Chonail infallibly feels homey and warm. It’s an odd realization if I ponder about it. Originally my initial birth took place in the desert town Filia while my early upbringing was in Taillteann. In fact, it wasn’t until much later that I visited Tir Chonail. I suppose Tailteann and Tir Chonail are somewhat alike in terms of climate, thus their similar ambiences.

Regardless of the reason I’m drawn to the small village at the base of the mountains, I found myself there once again to train. The skill in question – enthralling performance – turned out to be a surprise. At first I was rather apathetic towards this skill but the training requirements ended up being quite reasonable and enjoyable. In retrospect, I would agree that there’s an unappreciated entertainment value in having monsters follow you, haha.

Enthralling Performance - Rank 1

Though finishing enthralling performance was enjoyable to say the least, I made other efforts to improve my life skills as well! It so happens that I came across the Manus Brand Disinfectant whilst perusing the Dunbarton market shops. I promptly purchased it and was able to cap my first aid skill!

First Aid - Rank 6

I’ve also continued to train my magic craft skill on the side as well and my efforts have brought me to the rank 3 milestone. Conveniently, this magic craft rank activates the magical enchant which is used widely by mages and alchemists alike. As my experiences training this skill have been quite positive and relaxing, I anticipate that I’ll eventually reach rank 1 in due time.

Magic Craft - Rank 3

Other than skills, I managed to resolve the heated antics of the three girls drawn to Keane! Ultimately, that ended in Keane and Ysolte getting married of all things… Though as long as they’re happy, I suppose it doesn’t matter what the end result was!

Rush of Love Wedding 2

Rush of Love Wedding 3

Other than that, this life wasn’t particularly eventful! I have a feeling that the coming weeks will be rather eventful for me but we shall see~

Onset of Frost

The silence that the muffling winter snow brings in Erinn is both unnerving and serene. It’s presence becomes even more noticeable after a lengthy journey to deliver commerce goods. Perhaps the silence gives us Milletians time to reflect on what we’ve done since arriving here through the Soul Stream. It is my hope that with each passing year, we come closer and closer to finding happiness in this place.

Field Warrior 1

Though the chill in the air makes trading goods more arduous, my elephant and I braved the cold to make several trips to Tara. Our persistence was rewarded, however, as our merchant rating for that town reached level 8. With this milestone, only a single rank in Tara remains before my merchant rating has been maxed in all towns. I do wish that eventually the fomors will extend their trading routes to Iria but for now, that remains a distant dream of mine, haha.

Tara - Level 8

On topics other than commerce, my homestead reached the level cap and my ego, Photon, reached level 36 strength! Slowly but surely, the ego is becoming stronger and is hopefully on track to reach level 50 strength in the next half century.

Homestead Level 15 Strength Level 36

I should also thank my guildleader, Jiihae, for being extremely generous by giving me this Halloween Hunter prefix title. It’s quite a nice addition to my collection especially because it gives benefits to both alchemy and magic when equipped. I was honestly not expecting to get this title at all and as such, I am once again indebted to my guildleder and their kindness.

Hallow Party Title Clean

In addition to homemaking and commerce escapades, the rest of this life was spent training some unclassical dexterity skills: spider shot and hailstorm. I must comment that the training methods for both of these skills were slightly tedious but in the end, the slight increase in power makes the slow progress worth the effort.

During this life, I found myself training spider shot and hail storm. It’s a tad unusual for me to dabble in magic but branching out every now and then is always a refreshing change of pace. Aside from dexterity, hail storm also gives a bit of intelligence and mana – both of which will be valuable for mana shield and the gunner skills if I ever get around to ranking them. On the other hand, spider shot only gives dexterity along with a drip of stamina and because of the skill’s cool-down, it feels much more laborious to train. In the end, I was able to persist and finish both skills in a little over a year’s time.

Spider Shot - Rank 1 Hail Storm - Rank 1

With these two skills checked off, I believe that there are only a handful of skills left that grant dexterity! The end of my archery journey is in sight at last!

Iria Desert Glow

Combat Craze!

I had a slight obsession with combat-related skills this rebirth, haha. First off, I managed to acquire the Master of Combat title – a title that I think sounds pretty cool despite the effects not being too superb! Following this, I was able to finish the counterattack skill for the dexterity it gives. And finally, I capped the evasion skill for the minute amount of dexterity it gives.

Master of Combat

Counterattack - Rank 1

Evasion - Rank 6

Hoarding all the dexterity I can eventually pays off in damage output! Though it was a bit cheating using a gold combo card, hehe~

Dexterity and ranged skills aside, I happened to venture to the Hillwen Mines in this life. Rumor had it that monsters there had disappeared for some unknown reason and I wanted to see with my own eyes if the whispered tales were true. Incredulous as I was, the rumors did turn out to be true and ores galore were up for grabs with no risk of being attacked my monsters! With haste I bought a mining drill and set to work looting these once guarded treasures of the earth.

Empty Mines

Rare Minerology - Rank 5

I soon found myself at rank 5 rare mineralogy but unlimited access to the treasures of the mines was not to last. Towards the beginning of the year, the monsters returned and once again claimed the mines once again leaving milletians to fight for the right to mine. Like the other milletians, I’ve retreated from the mines for the time being but I certainly will come back to train engineering and finish the rare mineralogy skill.

To pass the time following my adventure to the mines, I headed to Avon in search of the Prince of Denmark. From my point of view, we got along pretty well but who knows!

Enhalo and Hamlet 3

I did want to give him some space after he claimed to have been visited by his father’s ghost though so I went off to Filia to train my magic craft skill. I seem to find myself in the nature reserve more and more often these days and it’s gotten to the point where I’m getting quite reasonable at the trade. As it stands now, I’m currently at rank 4 and still wanting to train more so we’ll see where this motivation takes me!

Magic Craft - Rank 4

The guild also went out to raid the Peaca Intermediate dungeon again. This time we took it slow and relaxed a little towards the middle of the dungeon. Disappointingly, we did not receive any desirable drops once again but the fun is in the journey and adventure rather than the destination, no?

Peaca Int CTRL Run 3

Peaca Int CTRL Run 11

On a final note, I’ve shortened my rebirth cycle to a year’s time rather than the typical three year period that most milletians follow. As a consequence, I’ve hastened my level accumulation rate and now find myself at a cumulative total of 4000.

Cumulative Level 4000

It’s been quite the journey thus far and it’s hard to believe that I’ve come this far along. Nonetheless, my adventure days will continue in earnest!

Fulfilling Life

I’m happy to write that I’ve made some reasonable progress on a few life skills! To start off the year, I finally managed to angle my way to r1 fishing! I can cheerfully say that attaining the master title won’t be in my sights for quite some time, haha. Although I may strive for finishing the first part of the collection journal of fishing if I feel up to the challenge!

Fishing - Rank 1

Cooking is was the other skill that my drew my attention in this past life and now that it’s at rank 9, I can finally start making shrimp fried rice to feed the hot spring monkeys! It’s a bit odd that after wanting the rewards from monkey feeding for so long, I never got around to ranking cooking until now. I will comment that ingredient hunting has involved less work than originally envisioned and once I had this misconception  out of the way, progress was made rather quickly!

Cooking - Rank 9

Aside from life skills, I managed to finish up march song without much difficulty. Unlike most skills where I allocate most of my focus towards them in a single life, march song was simply trained passively with each rebirth. It would be nice if the other bard skills ended up being trained in this manner but I doubt that will be the case once my focus narrows in on the music tab.

March Song - Rank 1

My spirit weapon, Photon, also achieved level 30 strength this week! Though it’s not much, I’m happy to see consistent progress with her max damage range. Ultimately, I would like for her to reach level 50 strength within half a century, though I would be perfectly content with a max damage range over a hundred in all honesty. But enough with skill ranking and statistics, and let me share what the guild did this year!

Strength Level 30

The yearly guild event consisted of a long-standing challenge: the Belvast Hostage Rescue Lord mission.

CTRL Belvast Hostage Run 1

We were able to actually make it through the courtyard with a hostage intact this time around! Upon arriving at the port, our premature celebration ground to a halt as the mission did register as completed and once again, the mission’s success had eluded us. To this day we’re still baffled as to why the mission was not considered complete. Though disappointed, we remain undeterred and will someday conquer this undertaking!

CTRL Belvast Hostage Run 2

On a final note and as you might have deduced from the illustrations thus far, I was able to purchase a Millia wear and  with it, fashion another outfit! The theme is largely inspired by Iria wherein the vast majority G18 takes place in. I’ve always adored the continent of my birth and spent countless days exploring its sweeping and boundless landscape. To this day, I still enjoy flying around the outer reaches of the continent where few Milletians are to be found. The serenity one can enjoy in these remote locations is something you cannot find in the other two continents. Though maybe one day this will change as we continue to discover and explore!

Oh right, I also fulfilled my duty as the Milletian this year but you all know how that goes…

Puppetry Progress

With some deliberation, I finally made up my mind to begin seriously ranking puppetry skills with the rationale that a new set of skills would balance the weaknesses of archery. The progress I’ve made thus far in the last few years centers around the primary AOE combo of puppetry: crisis followed by climactic crash.

Crisis - Rank 1

Master of Climatic Crash

Rising Action - Rank 1

Another noteworthy thing to mention is that I’ve finally begun to take my ego’s development a bit more seriously and just this year, she achieved level 29 strength.

Strength - Level 28

In my head, I envision attaining 41 social towards the end of next year but that widely depends on how much gold I can amass and reinvest in diamonds. The price range of these gems can range anywhere from 10k-30k a cm making social growth  an unquestionably exorbitant venture.

Aside from the usual routine of commercing and leveling, the guild collectively decided to raid peaca intermediate dungeon once again. We unfortunately did not receive any of the desired enchantments but as always, peaca dungeon is an enjoyable way to pass the time.

Peaca INT Team 1

After a number of entries in this journal, I’m happy to see that this is my 200th record. As it’s been 260 years since I arrived in Erinn, it’s refreshing yet nostalgic to look upon my own past words and perspectives. With that, I thank those who’ve happened to come across this journal and took the time to read its contents. Perhaps you’re from a distant age in the future or simply living alongside me in Erinn at this very moment. Whoever you are, I hope my records have been worth your time and brought you enjoyment but most importantly, it is my wish that you’ll look forward to the entries that the future shall bring.

As it’s the 200th record, I figured that a happening of significance would be most appropriate to document. Such is the case as a Portia Costume has finally entered my belongings after nearly 40 years of searching. Incidentally, these are the original colours belonging to the costume and retaining them felt quite appropriate given the joy the acquisition brought. Yellow does happen to be my favorite colour as well and I rarely use such a colour scheme since the many garmets I come across look better in darker hues. Regardless, I am truly happy to finally own a dress with such luxurious air about it.

I’ve spent the last several lives focusing on leveling and invested very little time into training skills. I was finally prompted to change this trend by finishing one of the newly discovered life skills, working on my transformation mastery skill, and completing mining mastery.

Shyllien Ecology - Rank 1 (Clean)

Transformation Mastery - Rank 7

Mining - Rank 1

Completing my mining skill turned out to be much more enjoyable then I thought it would be and Cullin was delightfully scenic and tranquil. Though the natural greenery of Cullin was a nice change of pace from busy streets of the cities, the opposite could be said for the sulfur pits in Zardine! I happened to run into a few ancient sulfur golems while mining near the Raspa Cliffs. With persistence, I was eventually able to dispatch the two nuances and finish up the mining skill in a tidy manner.

Sulfur Golem on the Edge 2

Even more surprisingly, I decided to work on my culinary skill reaching rank A prior to writing this entry. This was moreso galvanized by my desire of dungeon pass boxes from the hot spring monkeys. The want is mostly convenience driven but I am working towards finishing my dungeon journal achievements in addition to hunting for enchants on the side!

Cooking - Rank A

The last skill achievement that I’d like to note is that upon reaching a 3.2k total, I finally attained all rank 1 transformation skills. It’s a bit sad to see my levels more or less go to waste after this point but I suppose it’s a natural progression within any Millitean’s development.

Capped Trans

Aside from skills, my ego has also seen some modest progress in the last few years as I’ve invested more effort into ranking her stats since receiving the fire level 4 reforge. Right before authoring this entry, I gained the title of “the friend of the female bow spirit” by reaching level 21 social. My next goal is level 30 strength but given the time-frame of feedings, it’ll be a bit of time before this milestone is achieved.

Friend of the Female Bow

The gods of luck have been kind to me of late as the guild has successfully completed several production projects. Our target items were demonic weapons and I was responsible for crafting two Demonic Gloomy Sunday instruments for both mike and Oyama. To my gratification, I was able to carpenter both instruments during this past Alban Eiler and have the satisfaction of having my signature born on both weapons. It seems that acquiring the master of carpentry title turned out to be worth the effort and happy that my guildies are able to use it! At the present, I’m seriously debating as to whether or not I should stock up on wood boards to aim for the mastery title of handicraft. Like the carpentry title, it adds a small quality success bonus to the successful crafting of an item making it desirable for demonic weapons. Though it would be unarguably useful, the escapade would call for heavy time and monetary investments that could be better spent elsewhere. Perhaps I’ll undertake this venture after I finish updating my enchantments.

Demonic Gloomy Sundays

Speaking of enchantments, I was finally able to successfully ensorcell the Boiling enchantment on a Bohemian Wear. I vied for Boiling over the Encore enchantment due to my plan to hybridize over to alchemy in the distant future, as well as avoid the annoying damage rolls built into Encore. Normally having a damage range enchantment is not a problem but having two such rolls on a piece of equipment (Ambush being the other counterpart in this example) often leads to exponentially more frustration. I’ll surely work towards a doubly high rolled Encore Ambush Bohemian on the side but for now, this Boiling Ambush surrogate shall suffice!

Boiling Bohemian Wear

Updating my enchantments also requires that I rank certain skills to activate the effects. This brings me to my final topic of the entry: my initial progress in ranking puppetry skills! The best prefix for both Bohemian Flower Bands and Bohemian Shoes is the Burlesque enchantment but the impressive 10 ~ 15 max damage that comes with the enchantment calls for having rank 1 Act 9: Invigorating Encore. An additional 7 ~ 15 marionette max is also an added feature of the enchantment but also requires rank 1 Act 6: Crisis. Given my reasonably high dexterity stat and rising strength parameter, as well as my need to activate these enchantments in the future, it seems wise to venture into the puppetry skill-set at this stage. Thus far, I’ve managed to make a bit of headway in all skills save for Act 2 and Act 4. Eventually I’ll get around to ranking those two skills as well but for now it’s my intention to be conservative with my 1.4k AP.

Crisis - Rank C

Climactic Crash - Rank C

The journey to this point has been rewarding to say the least and brimming with adventure and joy with every step! Here’s to another hundred posts and to the bright future!

With A Hint of Magic!

Once again, I’ve been spending most of my days traversing the commerce routes. I’m getting very close to getting level 9 in every town with only Emain Macha (level 8) and Tara (level 7) left to cap! I didn’t think that ranking commerce mastery at around 2k was a good idea but now I can say without a doubt that it was a wise investment in AP, haha!

Emain Macha - Level 8

I’ve invested my remaining amount of time into these new skills: Magic Craft and Shyllien Ecology. Both skills can be a tad tedious and analogous to the metallurgy and refining skills. Like metallurgy, Shyllien Ecology is a gathering type skill yet different in the sense that consumes it mana, rather than stamina over the course of collecting the item. Collectable items include mana, bloody, garbage, and poison herbs along with shyllien crystals- all of which are used in making items with the Magic Craft skill. Magic craft mimics refining such that you need a cauldron or “furnace” to create items. However, the skill is leagues more laborious in terms of the number of requirements making it quite a lengthy process to achieve rank 1. Though… That’s never stopped me before, has it? XP

Magic Craft - Rank A

Shyllien Ecology - Rank 4

Lastly, I finally managed to get a decent ego weapon thanks to purchased reforges. I was not even going for an elemental reforge in all honesty and this is pretty evident from the one line LOL… In any case, my ego is now quite usable for most things though is still sub-par to a critical from my glorious thorn lotus r5 highlander long bow.  Now I have the added flexibility of a longer shooting range, slightly faster aiming speed, and less of a reliance on critical damage! The real trick from here on will be getting that max range up to 100 and repairing this bow, ahhhhhh!
